Why is it so hard for us to talk with each other? How can we break down the emotional wall?

"Voice" is a special gift from God. The moment we came out from our mother's womb, we let out a cry , a voice that give a relief to our mum , a voice of happiness , a wonderfull voice that have been gifted for us to communicate with each other in the future, a voice that bonds us with our family members ,relatives, friends ,future husbands, future wives, future children, future grandchildren, and even strangers around us . Without voice , life is dreary, monotonous, dismal and lifeless.Without voice and words , we are unlikely to understand each other better. However ,there are still some people who find it "challenging"to talk with each other , as for them , talking is like having medicine. Why is it so?

I believe that emotional conflict is the most prominent factor that stop both parties from having a conversation with each other. In the movie "A Thousand Years of Good Prayers", Mr Shi and his daughter are having antagoism since Yilan was still young. Yilan and her mum heard rumours about Mr Shi was having a relationship with his working partner at the workplace , however Yilan did't have the courage or initiative to ask Mr Shi the truth and remain silent till the very last moment.Being a rocket scientist , Mr Shi was taught to remain silent all the time as everything about his job and career is confidential, is a big secret for his company and the country , China itself. Therefore , Mr Shi and Yilan seldom talk to each other and did not get to know each other better.

Communication is paramount to having a successful relationship. The same is true about raising children. Parents must communicate with each other in order to reap the benefits of child rearing. Learning how to effectively communicate is mostly a task of learning how to listen. Active listening skills will help anyone communicate effectively and empathetically in a relationship and reduces the risk of not being heard. Typically one of the major areas of importance in a marriage is children. Unfortunately more often than not, one parent does a majority of the communication with the child while the other parent is an innocent bystander.Stay active in all aspects of the child's life regardless of who traditional roles is it.

Apart from this , why is it so hard for us to talk to each other? Is it of language barrier that become a thick wall between both parties t0communicate with each other?
Not really, what really matter is our mindset and heart whether we are willing , sincere and patient to talk to each other.Even two parties who came from different background and share different languages and religions are able to talk with each other, just like Mr Shi and Madam who is an Iranian in the movie. They are able to do so because of one important criterias as they are talking heart to heart .

Last but not least ,we should appreciate what God gave us ,our voice that some unfortunate people around the world yearn for it .Make full use of it and use it to communicate with each other to make the worls a better place to stay in.

Animal Rights!!!

Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather , and going to circuses and zoos. Many of us bought our beloved "pets" at pet shops , had adorable kitten, guinea pig and kept beautiful birds in cages. We wear wool and silk , ate McDonald's burgers ,and fished .We never considered the impact of this action on the animals involved . Some of you might asked , "Why should animal have rights?" In his book Animal Liberation ,Peter Singer states that the basic principle of equality does not require equal treatment , it require equal consideration . Animals surely deserve to live their lives free from suffering and exploitation .Jeremy Bentham , the founder of the reforming utilitarian school of moral philosophy ,stated that when deciding on being's right , "The question is not 'Can they reason?' nor "Can they talk"but "Can they suffer?" The capacity of suffering is the vital characteristics that gives a being the right to equal consideration . All animals have the ability to suffer in the same way and to the same degree as human do. So, animals should not be killed brutally in order to fullfill the demand of human wants and animals should not be subjected to laboratary experiments to suffer. In fact , they should be protected by humans .

When I mention about animal testing should discontinued, I believe that some of you might argued that animal testing is necessary for the development of vaccines ,cures and treatments for human health. First, animal not only react differently than humans to different drugs , vaccines ,and experiments , they also reacted differently from one another . The most famous example of the dangers of the animal testing is the Thalidomide tragedy of the 1960s and 1970s .Thalidomide , which came out on the German market late in the 1950s , had previously been safety tested on thousands of animals .It was marketed as a wonderful sedative for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers and it supposedly caused no harm to either mother or child . Despite this "safety testing" , at least 10,000 children whose mothers had taken Thalidomide were born throughout the world with severe deformities . Clioquinol is another example of drug which safety tested on animals had severely negative impact on humans. Manufactured in Japan and marketed as providibg safe relief from diarrhea . As a result , some 30,000 cases of blindness or paralysis and thousands of deaths occured. Are these two examples just isolated cases? Even though pharmaceuticals are routinely tested on on animals , the Journal of the American Medical Association reported that 100,000 people every year are killed by prescription drugs and more than two million are hospitalized as a result of prescription drugs. Stop torturing animal in the lab and I will show you how the animals are being treated in the lab in a short documentary that our group had done .

Last Thursday , Architecture two students had been given a task by Mr Derick to make a short video on whatever issues we like , and our group , Hazman, Sabri ,Daniel, Ah Beng and I had decided to work on animal rights . Hazman edited the cruel and sad part of the video as Sabri find some facts and statistic about animal killing ,while Ah Beng and I edited the front part of the video and Daniel finds videos of animal killing as well . We started to download as many videos as we can from 4.00pm to 5.30pm . After having our dinner and rest , we gathered again and around 9.15pm we start to work untill 4.00am in the morning.Although we are extremely tired but we are satisfied and happy that we finally complete our video. What I am really grateful is all of us have teamworks and able to discuss without quarelling. Finally ,I hope you guys like it.
